Cayberjaya – the paradise of Malaysia

In the weekdays I go to work. Or more precisely – I travel to work. I have to travel because my office is not located in Kuala Lumpur as I first thought when it was told I would work in Kuala Lumpur. No, I work in Cyberjaya. That name reminds of some kind of place were the cyborgs from hell  came to rebuild their new home planet after slaying all human life on earth. Previously the name Cyberjaya was referred as Cyberjungle for the reason it was just jungle before the Malaysian government decided to build up a massive IT park over there, alike Electronic City and Hitech City in Bangalore respectively Hyderbad….

Nightmare Train Ride

When the words “Indian trains” are being discussed the main topic easily lands on how crowded they are or how to get a ticket where one can enjoy a +24 hours ride without feeling uncomfortable. Just by googling “Trains India” the window will show some astonishing and interesting pictures of trains more looking like a gigantic monster cyborg – a puzzled mix between man and machine.

The review of India

Finally the day has come for me to pack my bags and leave India who hosted me for nearly one year time and engraved tons of amazing and sometimes a bit frustrating memories to my life’s timeline. My experience in India is completely subjective and the perception of this country refers to in this review is only from my, but only my, perspective and opinions. If I am wrong or someone else thinks differently it is not applicable. Don’t be scared by the harsh opening, I will do my best to be nice and honest.

2012 in review and still in India

2012 was a truly bad, yet interesting, year which I do not really know how to rate. A year that was almost mentally devastating plagued my persona for too long until 2013 came for the rescue, or as an excuse for change. The summary of the amazing year of 2011 indicated that 2012 would be a challenge. The main reason was to find a job that I liked which turned out to be incredibly difficult. My goal set for 2012 was to work abroad within Diversity Management and it took me four eternal months to get it, in India of all places. Thanks to my habit of being obsessively persistent when my aim is locked I could finally leave Sweden for my next adventure.

Travel in India – Udaipur

I found myself inside an eccentric delusion between dream and reality last night waking up having an urgent need to look for what was missing next to my bed. I was sitting straight up for 10 everlasting seconds not realizing what I was impatiently trying to find. Then my rationale finally started to operate and recognized I had not become insane, just some kind of hallucinations playing tricks with my sleepy head.

Indian festival in Hyderabad – Lord Ganesha

When India happens to be a quite religious diverse country one is blessed with, what seems like, hundreds of holidays. Since August there has been at least one holiday every second week. The Hindu people need to have fun, but there are also Christian, Islamic, Buddhist, Jain, Parsee public holidays, and many more. Except for all the public holidays, there are three national ones, such as Independence Day, Republic Day, and Gandhi Jayanti.

Indian culture shock – worst haircut ever

Life might not be perfect all the time with ups and downs and screaming won’t make the ride more joyful when one’s attempts to turn the show around drag down by confused thoughts without clear direction. Knowing which door to open or the right path to follow is might be easier if there a pleasant flow of cash, good connections,  and people you are close to. But what really matters is to have a good haircut.

From complaining towards entertaining – moving abroad and Japan nostalgia

Two years back I found myself fighting with chopsticks, blaming bureaucracy, and crying at food menus that lacked protein. I had arrived and settled down in a small seaside town in the south of Japan called Beppu which is well-known for being the most famous hot spring resort in the country and for a university that boasts the most diverse student bodies in all of Asia. I slowly increased my ability to pick up pieces of rice with the wooden sticks, not trying to freak up by all the authority-obsessed guards, and imported 20 kilos of protein powder to subsidize my increased rice consumption.

Travel in India – Hampi

It was time to leave the city. Took a bus for 9 hours out of nowhere to land in another world completely different from Hyderabad. Hampi is the place, a massive and magnificent area painted in a waste landscape covered with rocks and historical ruins. If you happen to live in Hyderabad and Bangalore you have to here.
